MELISSA’S STORY

After years of verbal and physical abuse, Melissa Howell Back was found deceased in her Morning View, Kentucky home on March 10th, 2020. Melissa was a victim of domestic violence and her life was taken away too soon by the hands of her husband. Melissa’s husband took his own life, which has resulted in the need to hire legal guidance for estate hearings and custody agreements of her son shared with her husband. The investigation on Melissa’s cause of death is still pending, but her family asks that you keep her voice heard by spreading awareness of domestic violence and the resources available to leave.

Melissa is a mother of three children, one of which is now left without both his mother and his father. The family is seeking donations to help during this time with any legal fees, counseling for the mental and physical pain resulting in her loss, and for the needs of her three children. In her journal she wrote: “My life is a message to the world, I need to make sure it’s inspiring.” Please continue to share her message to help your friends and loved ones get away from their abuser.
